So this weekend I went on my first EVER camping trip, we were supposed to go to for a weekend but gave in after one night. We rolled into the camp site at around 9:00pm and started setting up camp…I currently have 69 mosquito bites and some unpleasant bruising from God knows what. After driving for hours we hadn’t eaten yet. Therefore-dinner was made after we set everything up. Ugh. We tried everything to try and deter the mosquito’s and get rid of them: fire, those citronella candles, bug spray etc. but NOTHING worked-as you can tell (with 69 mosquito bites) So the night ended up being arrival-set up-eat-inside the tent asap! Once we woke up in the morning the bugs were just as bad. This resulted in eating breaky as we tore down our tent at 8am. We then decided to domesticate a little and hit up the trailer at Hatzic lake for the second night :)
SO in short-my first ever camping trip resulted in a big ichy painful mess. I currently HATE tenting and never want to do it again. But I’ll troop it out for one more try later.
